This is a comprehensive app that contains several primary features. LDS Tools has a communication feature as it has a contacts directory of ward and stake members. You can also access event calendars which show you upcoming events organized by the church. Leaders can check additional membership information regarding members of the church as well as reports. A map in the app enables users to locate meeting venues and temples.

The design of this application is not appealing as the aesthetic factor has not been taken into consideration. The interface is not user-friendly as it is developed around the database used. The contrast of fonts used in instructional and navigational components are is not quite clear, so the texts are not easily readable. However, the user interface is not cluttered, so you can quickly find the main functions and features such as Directory.

While the design may not be that great looking, the arrangement of various functional elements makes it easy for the user to navigate. In gaining access to the directory which has contact information of your ward and stake members, all you do is click on the Directory icon located at the bottom of the homepage. On the same navigational controls bar, you can go to the Calendars page for viewing events by clicking on the appropriate icon. 

As there are many contacts in the Directory, and the application gives you the ability to create custom contacts lists of various people in your ward and stake. You can conveniently locate meetinghouses on the map as well as get their address as well as the contact information for serving bishops. All you need to do is just enter a specific meetinghouse in the search bar, and you’ll receive all the relevant details you need about it.

LDS Tools is available on iOS and Android, with specific requirements for devices running on these operating systems. iOS users have to ensure their devices have iOS 10.0 and upwards; otherwise, you will not be able to download the application. The compatible iOS devices are iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Talking about Android device, the required OS version is Android 5.0 or later.

LDS Tools is available to download for free. Moreover, you get to use it without spending a dime as there are no in-app purchases offered at the time of writing of this LDS Tools review. Given that it is an app for church members, it shouldn’t surprise you that it is not offered at a fee and has no microtransactions. However, integrating infrequent ads could help gain the resources needed for improving the app.
